We have added two new team events to our 2012 schedule:

On June 8th at Plum Brook CC is a Scotch Twosome.
This will be played as follows:
Each player will hit a drive every hole. For the second shot each player will hit their partners ball. After the second shot you will choose which shot to play in and alternate shots till ball is holed. Handicap for this event will be 40% of combined handicaps, still using 18 as a maximum.

On September 7th at Orchard Hills CC is a Jumble Twosome.
This will be played as follows.
Holes 1 - 6 is a two person scramble, using 40% of combined handicaps, 18 max.
Holes 7 - 12 is a 1/2 Best Ball, each player getting their individual handicap.
Holes 13 - 18 is a scotch twosome played as explained above, getting 40% of combined handicaps, 18 max.

The Toledo Women’s District Golf Association begins its 90th year on May 4, 2012 at Inverness Club. The TWDGA has a proud tradition of promoting competition among members. Weekly tournaments are held every Friday from the beginning of May until the end of September at different member clubs. Championship events are included throughout the summer. A main goal of the group is to maintain high standards of sportsmanship.

What began as four clubs; Toledo Country Club, Inverness, Sylvania and Toledo Golf Club, has grown to 25 clubs. The clubs are located in Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. Membership today includes almost 150 women.

The TWDGA has a solid reputation among golfers in the area and continues to be an advocate for the game of golf and its fine values.
